Four St. Joe's Athletes Recognized for Academic Excellence

STANDISH, ME - The Great Northeast Athletic Conference recently
released the names of those athletes who achieved the highest grade
point averages in their respective sports, and four Saint Joseph's
College athletes have been recognized for such academic
accomplishment.
Ryan Prescott '09 (Pittsfield,
NH; Cross Country), Stephan
Gorsun '09 (South Berwick, ME; Baseball),
Andrew LeConte '09 (York, ME;
Golf) and Claire Cook '10
(Sangerville, ME; Lacrosse) posted the highest grade point averages
in the GNAC in their respective sports during the 2008-09 academic
year. All four student-athletes were recognized in each of the last
two years as GNAC Academic All-Conference honorees. Prescott,
Gorsun and Cook finished the 2008-09 year in a tie with eight other
GNAC student-athletes for the highest GPA in the conference
overall. The GNAC includes 13 member institutions competing in up
to 15 sponsored sports.
