Horgan Claims ECAC Second Team Honors
STANDISH, ME – Saint Joseph's senior attack Jonathan Horgan (Hingham, Mass.) has earned Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III All-New England Second Team accolades.
Horgan, the Monks' all-time leader in goals (111), assists (67) and points (178), is the first player in the five-year history of the St. Joe's men's lacrosse program to collect regional honors. He is also the only Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) player to claim ECAC All-Region mention this spring.
In his final collegiate campaign, Horgan paced the Monks in goals (41), points (61), ground balls (67), shots (131) and shots on goal (78). The two-time First Team All-GNAC selection capped the regular season ranked second in the GNAC in goals, third in points, and 10th in ground balls.
Saint Joseph's went 8-10 overall and 6-3 in GNAC play under the watch of fifth-year Head Coach Mike Edgar this spring. The Monks, seeded fifth in the conference tourney, saw the 2012 campaign come to a close with a 9-4 loss at the hands of #4 Norwich University in a GNAC quarterfinal tilt on April 25th.
