Elms Swimmers Dip Monks, 140-90

STANDISH, ME – The SJC Women's Swim team fell to Elms College by a 140-90 margin in the Alfond Center Pool on Saturday afternoon. Rose Maccarrone '12 (Hingham, MA) notched 18 points with a pair of first-place finishes for the Monks.

Maccarrone won the 100-Breast with a 1:23.37 effort and the 100-IM with a 1:12.19 performance. Fellow junior Hannah Gajewski (Biddeford, ME/McAuley) registered 17 individual points with a win in the 1000-Free (12:04.12) and runner-up efforts in the 100-Back (1:10.48) and 50-Fly (30.27) competitions.

Jamie Wojtkiewicz '12 (Bedford, NH) won the 500-Free (6:06.89) and placed second in the 100-IM (1:13.05) and Christine Cote '13 (Biddeford, ME) notched a 2:19.87 time to place second in the 200-Free.

The Monks' foursome of Cote, Courtney Shea '14 (Walpole, MA), Gajewski and Wojtkiewicz combined to post a victory with a 1:54.90 time in the 200-Free Relay.

Saint Joseph's will swim at Regis College next Saturday at 12:00 PM.
