The game for first place in the GNAC standings took place in Emmanuel’s Jean Yawkey Center on Tuesday night. Monks Fall Short at Wesleyan, 62-61
MIDDLETOWN, CT - Saint Joseph's fell to 7-6 overall with a 62-61 loss to Wesleyan University (6-5) in non-conference women's basketball action on Sunday afternoon. The Monks led for the majority of the contest, but the Cardinals scored the final basket of the game with just under 7 seconds remaining to seal the victory.

BOSTON, MA - Saint Joseph's (7-5, 1-0 GNAC) defeated Emmanuel College (8-3, 0-1 GNAC), 60-47, in the 2010 GNAC women's basketball opener for both teams on Thursday evening. Megan McDevitt '12 (Cumberland, ME) made five three-pointers and tallied a game-high 19 points in the win over the Saints, who are ranked 23rd in the country in the latest D3Hoops.com poll.

Huskies' guard Curran Leighton '13 (Dover, NH) scored a game-high 20 points and added 8 rebounds in the victory. With the win, USM retains possession of the Costello Cup, which is awarded to the winner of the rivalry match.
