STANDISH, Maine – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference weekly honors have been released and Saint Joseph's College of Maine was well-represented on the women's side, with sophomore Bella Koepsell (Falmouth, Maine) named GNAC Women's Track Athlete of the Week, sophomore Olivia Bean (South Portland, Maine) selected as GNAC Women's Field Athlete of the Week, and freshman Amber Pendleton (Warren, Maine) earning GNAC Women's Rookie of the Week following strong performances at the Maine State Indoor Championships.
Koepsell led the Monks on the track with a standout race in the 800 meters, placing fifth in 2:26.72 to secure four points for Saint Joseph's. She later returned to anchor the 4x400-meter relay that finished fifth in 4:36.30, helping the Monks close the meet with another scoring effort. Her 800m performance currently ranks first in the GNAC heading into championship weekend.
Bean delivered one of the top field performances of the meet for the Monks, placing third in the triple jump with a mark of 10.82m (35' 6"), a New England Division III provisional qualifier that earned six points. The jump moves her into a tie for first in the GNAC and also ties the Saint Joseph's program record in the event. Bean added a 4.56m (14' 11.5") effort in the long jump to round out a productive day in the horizontal jumps.
Pendleton continued her impressive rookie campaign with a strong showing in her Maine State debut, placing eighth in the 800 meters with a time of 2:29.88 to score a point in a deep field. She also contributed on the 4x400-meter relay that clocked 4:36.30 for fifth place, helping secure valuable late-meet points for the Monks. Pendleton's scoring 800m currently ranks her third overall in the GNAC as Saint Joseph's turns its focus to conference championship weekend.
