SID DOWNLOADS & MEDIA INFORMATION:
The Sports Information Office at Saint Joseph’s College of Maine is responsible for promoting and publicizing the College’s 22 NCAA Division III varsity programs, which compete in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) and the United States Collegiate Ski and Snowboard Association (USCSA). The office works to elevate the visibility of Monks Athletics at both the regional and national levels.
Its primary function is to provide timely and accurate information to print and digital media outlets, as well as to the athletic departments of competing institutions. Key responsibilities include media relations, press releases, feature stories, statistical maintenance and record keeping, and oversight of athletics web content. The Sports Information Office also collaborates closely with the College’s Marketing Department to ensure consistent and effective communication across all platforms.

INCOMING CLASS STUDENT-ATHLETE INFORMATION FORM:
If you are an incoming student-athlete entering your first year at Saint Joseph’s College, please take a moment to complete the following Student-Athlete Information Form by clicking HERE. The more detailed information you provide, the more complete and accurate your athletic bio will be.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact the Sports Information Office using the email addresses listed above.
INTERVIEW POLICY:
All interviews should be coordinated through the Sports Information Office. Players and coaches are available to the media throughout the week, but please allow 24 hours’ notice. Post game interviews are coordinated following the event and can be conducted on the fields/court or outside the locker rooms following a cool down period.
MEDIA CREDENTIALS:
Because space is limited at all of our venues, media members are advised to request credentials at least 72 hours in advance of the athletic contest to be attended.
Due to limited space in game management areas, only working media members are permitted in the game management areas. Working media members must contact the Sports Information Office in advance, as listed above. Special requests may be directed to the Director of Athletics Communication & Marketing.
Please note: Since seating is limited, Saint Joseph’s Athletics does not allow visiting schools to live stream any of Monks’ home contests. Exceptions to this policy may only be granted by the Director of Athletics Communication & Marketing.
PHOTOGRAPHY / VIDEOGRAPHY POLICY:
All photographers and videographers must receive prior approval (72 hours, preferably) from the Saint Joseph’s College Sports Information Office to take photos or video at any athletics event. To request credentials in advance, please contact the Sports Information Office.
NOTICE: All photographers and media working on or near the field assume all personal risk and acknowledge the possibility of injury due to play extending beyond the field of play, or from balls, sticks, or other sports equipment. Participation is at the individual's own risk and liability.
All photography and videography must comply with NCAA regulations and Saint Joseph’s College policies. Images may not be sold for commercial use. Additionally, no athlete’s likeness may be used for commercial purposes without written permission from the Saint Joseph’s College Athletics Department to ensure compliance with NCAA rules.
Only credentialed and approved media members actively working in a professional capacity are permitted at field level (within the fenced-in area for outdoor sports) or near the court during contests.
SJC Athletics Complex (Soccer, Field Hockey, Lacrosse, Track & Field):
Photographers covering athletic events at Saint Joseph’s College are expected to adhere to specific guidelines to ensure the safety of participants and the integrity of the competition. At all times, photographers must refrain from entering team bench areas and remain at least 10 yards away from benches and substitution zones. A safe distance from the field of play must be maintained to avoid interfering with athletes, game officials, ball chasers, or event staff. Photographers should also be mindful not to obstruct the view of spectators.
For track & field events, photographers are required to remain outside the competition area while events are in progress and must comply with all directions from meet officials. During throwing events such as discus and javelin, extra caution must be taken to stay clear of the flagged throwing zones at all times.
Mike McDevitt Court (Basketball, Volleyball):
Photography is restricted to designated baseline areas unless otherwise specified by event staff. Photographers must avoid team bench areas and the scorer’s table at all times to maintain a clear and safe environment for players and personnel. Additionally, care should be taken not to obstruct the view of spectators seated in the bleachers. To prevent interference with game officials and active play, photographers are required to remain behind the baseline throughout the contest.
Larry Mahaney Diamond / Richard W. Bailey Field (Baseball/Softball):
Without explicit permission, photographers are not permitted in the press box or within any fenced areas, including the field of play and foul territory. Additionally, photographers must remain clear of spectator sight lines in bleacher areas to avoid obstructing views.
VIOLATIONS:
Any violation of the above policies is grounds for immediate removal from the facility and may result in revocation of media privileges for future Saint Joseph’s College Athletics events. These regulations apply to all athletic events hosted by Saint Joseph’s College and may be adjusted in accordance with policies set by the NCAA, GNAC, MPA, or other governing bodies.
For media credential requests or policy questions, contact the Sports Information Office at 207-893-6618 or cmccarthy@sjcme.edu.
