Miller-Gagnon, Johnston & Mills Named 2026 GNAC Athletic Training Staff of the Year

STANDISH, Maine – Saint Joseph's College athletic trainers Tiffany Miller-Gagnon, Brianna Johnston, and Daniel Mills have been selected as the 2026 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Athletic Training Staff of the Year, as announced by the conference office on Monday.

The award, voted on by the league's member institutions, recognizes excellence in athletic healthcare and student-athlete support across the conference. Saint Joseph's has now earned the distinction for the third time, having also been recognized in 2014 and 2022.

Miller-Gagnon, who is entering her 22nd year as Saint Joseph's Head Athletic Trainer, oversees the healthcare needs of the Monks' 21 varsity programs while also serving as the College's Senior Woman Administrator. In addition to her responsibilities within athletics, she teaches SE 203 Care and Prevention of Injuries as part of the Saint Joseph's physical education curriculum. A native of Caribou, Maine, Miller-Gagnon earned a bachelor's degree in Athletic Training from the University of Maine at Presque Isle in 2004 before completing a master's degree at California University of Pennsylvania in 2005.

Under Miller-Gagnon's leadership, Saint Joseph's has become a clinical education site for both the University of Southern Maine and the University of New England athletic training programs, providing hands-on learning opportunities for future professionals in the field.

Johnston joined the Saint Joseph's sports medicine staff in 2019 after earning a bachelor's degree in Athletic Training from the University of Southern Maine in 2018. The Windham, Maine, native has played an integral role in supporting Monk student-athletes across multiple sports during her seven years with the department.

Mills, a Lewiston native, joined the Saint Joseph's staff in 2023 following the completion of an immersive clinical experience with the College. He holds a Master of Science degree in Athletic Training from the University of Southern Maine and a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Sciences from the University of New England.

"We're honored to be recognized by our peers across the conference," said Miller-Gagnon. "I'm incredibly proud of the work our staff does each day. Daniel, Bri, and I are committed to providing the best possible care and support for our student-athletes, and their health, well-being, and overall experience remain at the center of everything we do. Receiving this recognition is especially meaningful because it reflects the dedication of our staff and the tremendous support we receive throughout the Saint Joseph's community."
