SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine - The Saint Joseph's College of Maine women's cross country team opened the 2026 season at the NCAA Regional Preview, hosted by Bates College at the Wainwright Sports Complex on Saturday evening. Racing over 3.34 kilometers, the Monks placed fifth among nine scoring teams with 148 points and a 13:30 team average.
Sophomore Amber Pendleton (Warren, Maine) led Saint Joseph's with a 25th-place finish in 13:03.7, while freshman Haley Marston (Greene, Maine) was close behind in 30th at 13:11.0. Bowdoin captured the team title with 25 points.
NEED TO KNOW:
The Regional Preview gave Saint Joseph's its first competition on the Wainwright course that is scheduled to host the NCAA East Regional on November 14. Pendleton and Marston both finished inside the top 30, and the Monks placed five runners inside the top 50. Saint Joseph's top five scorers were separated by just 47.7 seconds, with all five finishing between 13:03.7 and 13:51.4.
