Murphy joins the men’s basketball coaching staff afterserving as an assistant coach for the Plymouth State Universitywomen’s basketball program during the 2012-13 campaign.

A standout player during his four seasons at SaintJoseph’s, Murphy tallied 1,464 points, 511 rebounds, 364assists and 320 steals over 109 career contests and garneredAll-State honors all four years with a pair of All-Conferenceaccolades for his efforts. He is one of just three SJC players tonotch at least 1,400 points, 500 rebounds and 300 assists duringtheir career.

Murphy was a key member of a Saint Joseph’s team thatclaimed an NCAA DIII Northeast Independent Championship andfinished as the ECAC New England runner-up in 2006 and was one ofsix seniors on a 2009 squad that captured a GNAC Championship andsubsequent NCAA Tournament berth.

He is the Monks’ all-time leader in steals and led thenation – all three levels – with 4.2 steals per game in2007.
