Waterville, ME - The SJC men's soccer team found the back of the
net a couple of times at Colby yesterday, but two second-half goals
lifted the Mules to a 4-2 win.
Jim Pilgrim (Baltimore, MD) opened the scoring for Colby just
5:02 in the match, but St. Joe's tied it at 1-1 when freshman
Andrew Roberts (Ipswich, MA) headed the ball off a
cross from freshman Eamonn Harrigan (Caribou, ME)
at 16:24.
The Mules regained the lead when Will Kinder (Wilbraham, ME)
scored off a pass from Logan King (Braintree, MA) about five
minutes later.
The Monks tied the game at 52:56 as sophomore Kevin
Melega (Easthampton, MA) knocked in a shot from outside
the box off a pass from David Rosquete (Auburn,
ME).
Freshman Greg Cavanaugh (Haverhill, MA) had six
saves for St. Joe's and Josh Kahane (Newton, MA) made one for
Colby.
St. Joe's travels to Vermont this weekend and takes on Green
Mountain on Sat., October 14, at 12:00 p.m. and Lyndon State on
October 15, at 2:00 p.m.
