STANDISH, MAINE - The University of New England
Nor'easters improved to 14-7 with a 66-40 win over Saint Joseph's
College. Senior Essie McKinnon (South Portland, ME) had 13 points
in the victory.
UNE forced 31 St. Joe's turnovers and held the
Monks to just 44 field goal attempts. The Nor'easters held a
commanding 32-15 lead going into the break and continued to limit
St. Joe's scoring opportunities in the second half.
St. Joe's junior captain Kaylin
Regula (Windham, ME) led all scorers with 14 points and 7
boards. First year Sasha Bowen (Boston, MA)
chipped in with 7 points, 4 boards and 2 steals all coming in the
second half while first year Mallory Clark
(Ipswich, MA) recorded 6 points and 5 boards.
Senior Kelsi Royer (Lewiston, ME) had 10 points and
three steals and first year Brooke Weston (Dixfield, ME) had 9
points and 4 assists for UNE.
The St. Joe's squad travels to Green Mountain
College in Vermont on 2/12 for a 2:00 p.m. game while UNE takes on
Salve Regina in Newport, RI on 2/11 at 1:00 p.m.
