Milton, Mass. - The Saint Joseph's College men's soccer team was edged 3-1 at Curry College last night. Chris Spreadbury gave the Colonels an early lead with a goal in the 23rd minute and Rui Silva scored what would be the game winner in the 32nd minute.

In second half action, sophomore Kevin Melega (Easthampton, MA) registered the only SJC goal on a penalty kick in the 52nd minute.

Alan Artieda scored at 67:55 to extend the Curry lead.

Monk freshman goalkeeper Greg Cavanaugh (Haverhill, MA) made 12 saves in his intercollegiate debut and Clark Zelazo had 3 saves for the Colonels.

Saint Joseph's faces Thomas College on 9/6/06 at 3:00 in the home opener.
