as Southern Maine topped Saint Joseph's College 3-1 in men's soccer
today.
SR Eddie Weddington (Augusta, ME) gave the Huskies an early lead
after heading the ball into the net in the 30th minute off a cross
by Bajic.
SJC keeper SO Cory Smith (Ellsworth, ME),
finished with 7 saves and made 3 impressive saves in the half to
keep the Monks within striking distance.
Bajic netted two second half goals off assists by Weddington and
SO Peter McHugh (Portland, ME) to secure the win for Southern
Maine.
USM keeper SO David Kreps (Agawam, MA) picked up one save in the
shut-out.
The Monks host GNAC opponent Albertus Magnus on Saturday, 9/8 at
3 PM, while the Huskies host University of New England on 9/3 at 1
PM.
