Standish, ME - Two second half goals were the difference on Saturday as Albertus Magnus defeated St. Joe's 2-0 in the Monks' GNAC opener. Saint Joseph's College stands at 0-2 while Albertus Magnus improves to 2-1-1 overall.

SR Joe Salamone (Northford, CT) connected on a pass from SR Dan Dias (Trumbull, CT) in the forty-ninth minute to put the Falcons up 1-0. Dias extended the lead with a goal at 82:09 off a pass from JR JJ Torres (Trumbull, CT).

SJC keeper SO Cory Smith (Ellsworth, ME) had five saves and SO Gerald O'Connor (Hamden, CT) had three saves for the Falcons.

St. Joe's travels to Maine Maritime for a 4 PM match on Wednesday, September 12th and Albertus Magnus hosts Purchase College on Tuesday, September 11th at 4 PM.
