Standish, ME - Four players scored as the Monks defeated Johnson
& Wales 5-1 on Saturday afternoon. FY Mikayla
Call (Portland, ME) registered two second half goals and
SO Anna Willis (Gorham, ME) scored the game
winning goal and picked up a pair of assists. St. Joe's improves to
2-0 on the season while Johnson & Wales drops to 0-5
overall.
Willis set-up FY Jennifer Crisp (Dedham, MA) for
the first goal of the match in the 18th minute and followed with a
goal of her own off a pass from SO Lauren Hagerman
(Scarborough, ME) five minutes later to put the Monks up 2-0.
Johnson & Wales FY Brittany Benham (Wallingford, CT) assisted
on a goal by SO Kate Nast (Quakertown, PA) to make it 2-1 at
33:45.
St. Joe's continued to dominate in the second half as Call's two
goals gave the Monks a comfortable 4-1 lead with over twenty
minutes to play. JR Caitlin Foley (Wilmington, MA)
closed out the scoring with a goal off a pass from SO Heidi
Stucki (Oakland, ME).
SJC SO keeper Katye Mayo (Fairfield, ME) finished
with four saves and FY Jennifer Hurley (Freeport, NY) had five for
Johnson & Wales.
