STANDISH, ME - Tyler Kelley
'11 (Saco, ME) poured in a game-high 24 points and
Ray Eatmon '10 (Huntington,
NY) posted his fourth straight double-double effort with 16 points
and 14 boards as St. Joe's (12-4, 6-3 GNAC) never trailed GNAC foe
Albertus Magnus (7-8, 3-5) in an 84-73 victory on Saturday. Walden
St. Juste '11 (Hartford, CT) and Bobby Leonzo '09 (East
Haven, CT) paced the Falcons with 11 points apiece in the
defeat.
The Monks led 12-11 six minutes in, but rattled off a 24-2 run in
the next 11 minutes to secure a 25-point lead with 2:38 remaining
in the first half. Eatmon scored eight points and
Kelley put up seven during the span which saw
Saint Joseph's take control of the contest.
Saint Joseph's sported a 47-25 lead when the second stanza began,
but the Falcons, who shot just 29.4% (10-34) from the field in the
first half, slowly chipped away at the deficit and trailed by just
seven, 62-55, with nine minutes left. Albertus Magnus outscored St.
Joe's 48-37 and posted a 54.3% (19-35) effort in the closing
half.

outscoring the visitors 21-1 en route to gaining a 21-point cushion
with 3:51 to play. Zach O'Brien '12
(Schenectady, NY) led the way for the Royal Blue with eight points
during the outburst.
Although the Falcons showed signs of life in the second half, the
effort was lost as St. Joe's managed to hold off the conference
counterpart in the closing minutes and cruised to an 84-73
victory.
Saint Joseph's out-shot Albertus Magnus from the field, 52.5%
(31-59) to 42% (29-69), and out-rebounded the visitors, 42-36, in
the triumph. The Monks enjoyed success from beyond the arc as well,
making 7-14 in the contest.

from downtown, on six attempts, and O'Brien went
5-8 from the floor and netted 14 points. Elbie
