STANDISH, ME - Bowdoin College (3-1) defeated Saint Joseph's (4-3-1, 2-0 GNAC), 2-0, in non-conference men's soccer action at Westerlea Way Field on Sunday afternoon. A late goal in each half propelled the Polar Bears to victory in just the second meeting between the Maine programs.

Bowdoin has now won three in a row and has not allowed a score in nearly 200 minutes of play. The result snaps a three-game winning streak for St. Joe's.

The game was scoreless until the 44:49 mark of the first half when Eddie Jones '12 (Scarborough, ME) tallied an unassisted goal, his third marker of the season, to lift the visitors to a 1-0 edge heading into intermission.

The Monks went on to hold the Polar Bears without a goal for the next 40 minutes of play, but managed few scoring chances during the same span. Tim Prior '11 (Georgetown, MA) scored the final goal of the game off a Nick Powell '12 (Enfield, NH) pass with 5:52 remaining.

Monks keeper Will Pike '10 (Gorham, ME) made 11 saves and Paul Robins '11 (Cornwall, England) had two shots in the loss.
