NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Saint Joseph's College (12-2, 8-0 GNAC) defeated Albertus Magnus College (0-7, 0-6 GNAC), 12-0, in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) field hockey contest on Saturday afternoon.

Senior forward Emma Rutledge (Alfred, Maine) broke the Monks' single-game records for goals (5) and points (10) while junior Megan Quirion (Oakland, Maine) and sophomore Megan Mourmouras (Biddeford, Maine) added two goals apiece in the lopsided victory. Senior Alexis Beardsley (Livermore, Maine), junior Aimee Adams (Gardiner, Maine), and sophomore Haley Brann (Gardiner, Maine) also scored in the 12-0 triumph.

Bailey Cutler '18, the previous record holder for goals in a game, netted four versus Mount Ida on October 11th, 2014, while Kayla Nowell '11 set the points high-water mark when she tallied nine points against Bay Path on September 7th, 2009.

The Monks held a 52-1 lead in shots with a 36-1 advantage in shots on goal and a 28-1 cushion in penalty corners.

Four of the SJC goalkeepers logged time in the win, as Kassidy Collins (Gardiner, Maine), Heather Rohr (Merrimack, N.H.), Riley Kiernan (Waltham, Mass.) and Caitlin Bouvier (West Yarmouth, Mass.) played a quarter apiece. Bouvier turned away the only shot faced by an SJC keeper in the fourth quarter.

Albertus Magnus starting keeper Lillian Woods made 24 saves in the setback.

Saint Joseph's will host Simmons University on Wednesday in a GNAC contest slated to start at 5:00 PM.
