PAXTON, Mass. – Five different players scored to help Saint Joseph's College (11-1-2, 10-0-0 GNAC) topple Anna Maria College (2-12-1, 2-8-0 GNAC), 5-1, in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) men's soccer contest on Wednesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Despite maintaining possession throughout, the Monks did not hit pay-dirt until the 35th minute, when freshman Gus Ford (Falmouth, Maine) netted his fourth of the year off a Kuma Onyejose (East Greenwich, R.I.) pass.

St. Joe's held the slim 1-0 margin going into intermission and headed into the second half on the attack, as the Monks rattled off three goals in a matter of 11 minutes to stake a 4-0 advantage. Freshman Rion Dos Santos (São Paulo, Brazil) netted his third marker of the year off a Ford feed at the 47:42 mark and senior Austin Ward (North Andover, Mass.) tacked on his fifth of the fall 67 seconds later off a PK attempt. Onyejose scored his team-leading seventh goal of the year in the 57th minute after being sprung free on a breakaway with a long kick from graduate keeper David Walbridge (Hampden, Mass.).

The AMCATS managed to make it a 4-1 game when Caleb Wu scored off a Hezekiah Adeyeye assist at the 66:04 mark and sophomore Icaro Vieira (Westborough, Mass.) capped the scoring ledger with his first NCAA tally off a Ward dish in the 75th minute.

TEAM STATS:

Saint Joseph's held the lead in shots (25-12), shots on goal (10-7), and corner kicks (5-2) in the triumph.

THE KEEPERS:

Walbridge made three saves in 61 minutes of shutout play while junior Mike Sheridan (Folsom, Pa.) turned away three of the four shots he faced in nearly 29 minutes of relief duty. Anna Marie keeper David Flores made five saves in the losing bid.

HISTORICALLY SPEAKING:

With the win, the Monks remain undefeated with a perfect 10-0-0 all-time record versus Anna Maria College.
