Box Score WATERVILLE, Maine – Colby College (4-1) defeated Saint Joseph's College (6-2), 4-1, in non-conference field hockey action on Wednesday evening.
After a scoreless first quarter, Colby rattled off four unanswered goals as freshman Pernilla Shaw scored in the 30th and 35th minutes and Lillian Kistner found the back of the cage at the 51:30 mark. Shaw capped her hat trick performance a minute later to make it a 4-0 game.
Senior Emma Rutledge (Alfred, Maine) put the Monks on the board with 20 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter to account for the 4-1 final score.
SJC freshman keeper Kassidy Collins (Gardiner, Maine) made two saves in the loss.
Saint Joseph's will host Lasell University in a conference contest on Saturday at 11:00 AM.
