STANDISH, Maine – Saint Joseph's College (5-6-3, 5-4-3 GNAC) and Albertus Magnus College (6-4-4, 5-4-3 GNAC) dueled to a scoreless stalemate in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) women's soccer contest at the SJC Athletics Complex on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The goalkeepers stood out in this double goose-egg effort, as SJC senior Carly Downey (Yarmouth, Maine) and Albertus sophomore Amy Stevens (Lincoln, R.I.) combined to make 20 saves on the afternoon.

Senior Aaliyah WilsonFalcone (Winthrop, Maine) had the best scoring opportunity of the contest in the 90th minute when she got past the AMC defense and unleashed a shot that was tipped by Stevens and glanced off the left post.

TEAM STATS:

Saint Joseph's held the lead in shots (24-15), shots on goal (12-9), and corner kicks (6-3) in the deadlock.

THE KEEPERS:

Downey made nine saves while Stevens turned away 11 shots – including several in 1v1 situations.

HISTORICALLY SPEAKING:

The Monks are now 11-4-3 all-time versus Albertus Magnus College.

NEXT!

Saint Joseph's closes out the regular season with three straight conference games on the road, starting with a GNAC tilt at Mitchell College on Wednesday (3:00 PM).
