BIDDEFORD, Maine – Saint Joseph's College travelled to University of New England on Friday afternoon. The Monks fell to the Nor'easters 147-53 in the opening meet of the season.
THE RUNDOWN – WOMEN:
- Senior Kiley Matthews (South Portland, Maine) secured the only first-place result in the 50-free (27.51), which was just 0.44 ahead of UNE's Peyton Dion.
- Senior Tiffany Twombly (Sanford, Maine) placed fourth in the 100-IM (1:10.85) and third in the 100-Back (1:12.38).
- Freshman Cheri Willems (Belchertown, MA) placed second in the 200-Free (2:14.72) and second in the 100-Fly (1:12.35). Williams also placed third in the 500-Free (6:23.28).
- Junior Elise Soucy (Saco, Maine) finished fourth in the 200-IM (2:43.99) and fifth in the 100-Back (1:13.62).
- Sophomore Bri Letourneau (Lewiston, Maine) was third in the 100-Fly 1:16.69
- Sophomore Berkley Hutchins (Springfield, Vt.) placed fourth in the 100-Back (1:13:33).
THE RUNDOWN - MEN:
- The Monks men, represented by Brendan Beyor, fell to the Nor'easters 36-8. Beyor competed in the 50-Free (32.79) and 100-free (1:20.68) placing second in both.

The Monks are back in action on Sunday, October 20th when they travel to Husson for a relay event.
