BOSTON, MA – Simmons University (15-3, 9-2 GNAC) scored two goals in the first quarter and one in the fourth to defeat Saint Joseph's College (9-9, 7-4 GNAC), 3-0, in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) field hockey matchup on Wednesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Hannah Groves opened the scoring in the 9th minute off a Hailey Brisson pass and scored again just two minutes later off a Anna Tedeschi assist. Groves went on to score again in the third quarter off a Hailey Brisson pass to account for the game scoring.

Maya Warya (Bellows Falls, VT) had the lone shot on goal for the Monks. 

TEAM STATS:

The Sharks held the lead in shots (16-1) and shots on goal (11-1) while the Sharks posted a 10-1 edge in penalty corners.

THE KEEPERS:

SJC senior Kassidy Collins (Pittston, Maine) had eight saves of the sixteen shots faced in the setback while Simmons goalie Haley Bright stopped the lone shot she faced in the victory.
