Box Score FARMINGTON, Maine — The Saint Joseph's College men's basketball team cruised to a 118-78 victory over University of Maine-Farmington (1-5) on Tuesday night on the back of a career-best 30 points from John Paul Fraizer. The win improved the Monks' record to 4-2 on the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Monks started hot coming out to an early 12-4 lead after two three-pointers from John Paul Frazier. The Beavers battled back to make it 36-30 before Saint Joseph's took control late ending the half on a 13-7 run. The Monks entered halftime with controlling 49-37 lead, led by Frazier's 21 points.
Saint Joseph's continued it's momentum into the second half with a commanding start. A three-pointer from Wani Donato capped of a 16-5 run in the opening three minutes of the half to put the Monks up 23. Saint Joseph's controlled the game from there never letting the lead drop below 19. Kolbyn Dunphe's three-pointer capped up a dominating second half where the Monks outscored the Beavers 69-41, ending the game with a 118-78 win.
LEADERS – SAINT JOSEPH'S:
- Junior John Paul Frazier (York, ME) scored a career-high 30 points from 15 shots, including 8-11 from three
- Senior Julian Llopiz (Boston, MA) scored 21 points on 8-11 shooting off the bench
- Junior Wani Donato (Portland, ME) added 15 points and a game-high eight rebounds, six assists and two steals
- First year Silvano Ismail (Portland, ME) posted 13 points, five rebounds, four assists, and two steals
- Sophomore Remijo Wani (Portland, ME) netted seven points, five rebounds and three assists
- Redshirt Freshman Derek Salvatore (Johnston, R.I.) contributed six points, six rebounds, four assists, and two steals while Sophomore Kolpyn Dunphe (Westbrook, ME) scored eight points
LEADERS – MAINE-FARMINGTON:
- Zach McLaughlin led Maine-Farmington with 16 points
- Brock Flagg added 15 points off the bench
- Gabe Michaud tallied seven points, four assists, two rebounds and two steals
