WEST HARTFORD, Conn.-Saint Joseph's College (5-3,0-1) fell to USJ (5-2, 1-0) in their GNAC Season Opener.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Bluejays opened the scoring with a jumper in the first minute of play. The Monks responded with a three-pointer in the first minute, also. The Bluejays pulled ahead by 18 points nine minutes into the first half. The Monks slowly chipped away but couldn't keep up with USJ. The Bluejays went on to finish the first half ahead by 22 points.
The Bluejays extended the lead to 28Â over the first six minutes of the second half. The Monks were unable to come back from the 28 point deficit and the Bears held on for a 94-76 win.Â
STATS OF THE GAME:
Saint Joseph's shot 44.4% (28-63) from the field and 25.% (6-24) from three-point range while USJ shot 54.7% (35 -64) from the floor and 66.7% (12-18) from beyond the arc.

- Sophomore Remijo Wani (Portland, Maine) led the Monks with 25 points
- Wani Donato (Portland, Maine) pulled down 10 rebounds with 20 points
- Silvano Ismail (Portland, Maine) scored 13 points with five rebounds, three assists, and three steals
- John Paul Frazier (York, Maine) contributed nine points with four rebounds
LEADERS – USJ:
- Jakari Tertulien led the Bluejays with 24 points
- Tahmeen Dupree had nine reboundsa and 21 points, five rebounds, and six steals
