STANDISH, ME. – Thomas College (5-1, 0-0) defeated Saint Joseph's College (0-3, 0-0 GNAC), 4-0, in a non-conference field hockey matchup on Wednesday evening.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Monks held the Terriers off the board until the 26th minute when Maci Freeman netter the first goal of the night. The Terriers padded their lead with a goal at the 34th and 47th minute. Julia Reny capped the game scoring with her first tally of the night in the 57th minute. Maya Waryas had four scoring opportunities but her attempts were denied by the Thomas netminder.
TEAM STATS:
Thomas held considerable advantages in shots (32-6), shots on goal (21-4), and penalty corners (20-3) in the victory.
THE KEEPERS:
Kassidy Collins made 17 saves for the Monks in the setback while Thomas netminder Elise Syphers posted four stops for the terriers.
