Box Score HENNIKER, N.H.. - The Saint Joseph's College Monks (14-4, 6-1) defeated the New England College Pilgrims (3-15, 1-6) 77-70 in a GNAC men's basketball contest on Wednesday evening.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Pilgrims held a narrow lead for much of the first half. The Monks were able to catch up to the Pilgrims when
John Paul Frazier tied the score 12-12 with three pointer at 12:43, followed by a short lived lead on a
Wani Donato (Portland, ME) free throw and
Julian Llopiz (Boston, MA) three pointer. The Pilgrims pulled ahead and went on to outscore the Monks to take a 33-31 lead into the second half.
The Monks made up for lost time and went on to outscore the Pilgrims 46-37 in the second half, scoring 16 points off of turnovers and 34 points in the paint, for the 77-70 victory.
LEADERS – SAINT JOSEPH'S:
- Silvano Ismail (Portland, ME) led the Monks with a game high of 23 points and five assists
- Remijo Wani (Portland, ME) tallied 14 points, two steals, an assist, and four rebounds
