STANDISH, Maine – The 22nd Saint Joseph's College Athletics Hall of Fame Class was formally enshrined Friday evening during a ceremony at the Stone Barn, located across from the College's main campus. The 2025 inductees—Jim Cilley '03 (Golf), Charlie Furbush (Baseball, 2005–06), Madylan Kluna '12 (Softball), Chad Pulkkinen '07 (Basketball), and Felicia Wachowiak '16 (Volleyball)—join an elite group of Monks greats, bringing the Hall's membership to 116.
Nearly 150 guests gathered under crisp, clear skies to celebrate the newest class in one of the College's most scenic venues. The evening opened with welcoming remarks from emcee Troy Hendricks '22, '24, followed by words from President Joe Cassidy and a prayer delivered by Tiffany Miller-Gagnon, Associate Director of Athletics for Sports Medicine. Each inductee was introduced with a career-highlight video before being interviewed on stage by a person of their choosing. John Wassenbergh '96, HOF '07 interviewed Chad Pulkkinen; Jamie Smyth '92 interviewed Madylan Kluna; Mike McDevitt '83, HOF '11 interviewed Jim Cilley; Yamile Nolan interviewed Felicia Wachowiak; and Will Sanborn '86 interviewed Charlie Furbush.
Chad Pulkkinen '07, a Windham, Maine native, was a key member of the Monks' 2007 NCAA Division III Northeast Region Independent Championship team. A two-time All-Independent honoree, he scored over 1,100 career points despite enduring two season-ending injuries and ranked among the program's top shooters when he graduated. Pulkkinen has since become one of Maine's top high school coaches, leading Windham to back-to-back Class A state titles in 2024 and 2025.
Standish native Madylan Kluna '12 anchored the Monks' pitching staff during one of the most successful eras in program history, helping lead Saint Joseph's to two GNAC Championships and NCAA Tournament appearances. A three-time All-Conference honoree and 2011 GNAC Tournament MVP, she graduated ranked among the program's leaders in shutouts, strikeouts, and wins, while also holding the career record for saves.
Jim Cilley '03, of Belmont, New Hampshire, captained the golf program and earned All-Conference honors during his Monks career. He went on to become one of New Hampshire's most decorated amateur golfers, capturing multiple state titles—including the 2011 New Hampshire Amateur—and earning back-to-back Player of the Year honors in 2021 and 2022. A fixture on the state's Tri-State Team, he has represented New Hampshire at the highest levels of regional competition for nearly two decades.
Felicia Wachowiak '16, a native of Milton, New Hampshire, is the most decorated player in Monks volleyball history. She graduated as the program's all-time leader in kills, attack percentage, and blocks while also setting the GNAC career blocks record. A three-time First Team All-GNAC honoree and the 2015 GNAC Offensive Player of the Year, Wachowiak powered Saint Joseph's to its first GNAC Tournament victory and established herself as one of the conference's premier players.
Charlie Furbush, of South Portland, Maine, was a dominant pitcher who helped guide the Monks to back-to-back NAC Championships and the program's first NCAA Tournament appearance. A two-time NAC Player of the Year and 2006 NAC Pitcher of the Year, he earned All-America honors and went on to pitch at LSU before being selected in the fourth round of the 2007 MLB Draft. Furbush pitched five seasons in the Major Leagues with the Detroit Tigers and Seattle Mariners.
The evening was a celebration of excellence and tradition, honoring five individuals whose achievements helped elevate Saint Joseph's Athletics and whose legacies continue to inspire current and future Monks. Thank you to all who attended and contributed to the special event!
