St. Joe's Falls at #12 Endicott

BEVERLY, Mass. – Saint Joseph's College (7-5) fell to #12 Endicott College (11-1), 8-1, in non-conference field hockey action at North Field on Wednesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Endicott, ranked 12th in the latest Penn Monto/NFHCA Division III National Coaches Poll, built a commanding lead early, scoring three times in the opening quarter and adding another in the second to carry a 4-0 edge into halftime.

The Gulls extended their cushion to 6-0 before the Monks broke through in the 44th minute, when senior Kienna Haley (Scarborough, Maine) converted a feed from sophomore Ava Markham (Belfast, Maine) for her 15th goal of the year.

Endicott answered quickly with a penalty stroke goal and capped the scoring with a late tally to seal the 8-1 victory.

TEAM STATS:

Endicott held advantages in nearly every statistical category, outshooting Saint Joseph's by a 41-5 margin with a 26-4 edge in shots on goal. The Gulls also earned 11 penalty corners compared to six for the Monks.

THE KEEPERS:

SJC junior goalkeeper Kimberley McLaughlin (Lewiston, Maine) was busy throughout the contest, registering a career-high 18 saves, while a pair of Endicott keepers combined to make three stops.
