Four Monks Earn GNAC Honors; Burleson Claims Coach of the Year

NORTHFIELD, Vt. – The Saint Joseph's College of Maine men's cross country team captured the 2025 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championship on Saturday afternoon at Norwich University, securing the program's second conference title and first since 2023.

The Monks clinched the victory with 44 points, edging Norwich by just two points in one of the closest championship finishes in recent GNAC history. Seniors Jacob Pelletier and Alexey Seredin led the way with 3rd- and 4th-place finishes, while sophomores Isaac Keresey, Michael Clarke and Aidan Mills provided crucial scoring depth to secure the championship.

Head Coach Michael Burleson – GNAC Men's Coach of the Year

The 2025 season marked Burleson's first year as Head Cross Country Coach, taking the reins following the retirement of long-time coach Tom Dann. Since arriving at Saint Joseph's in 2023, Burleson has reshaped the direction of the distance program—elevating training standards, and building a culture centered on consistency, accountability, and team-first racing.
