Monks Cap Regular Season with GNAC Tri-Match Sweep

NEW LONDON, N.H. – Saint Joseph's College (17-12, 11-2 GNAC) wrapped up its Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) slate with a pair of strong performances at the Hogan Sports Center, earning a hard-fought 3–1 win over Simmons (10–17, 8–5 GNAC) before returning to the court for a dominant 3–0 sweep of Colby-Sawyer (11–15, 7–6 GNAC).

PLAYOFF IMPLICATIONS:

With the results in the books, Saint Joseph's claims the #3 seed in the GNAC Tournament and will host #6 Simmons in a conference quarterfinal on Tuesday at 6:00 PM.

The Monks controlled the opening set late for a 25–23 win, stumbled in the second (17–25), then regrouped with two steady, composed frames to take sets three and four by scores of 25–18 and 25–22. SJC's balance at the net – six players tallied at least five kills - proved to be the difference.

The Monks controlled the match from start to finish, hitting efficiently and applying steady defensive pressure across all three sets. Saint Joseph's opened with a 25–19 victory behind an 11-kill effort in the opening frame, then held off a mid-set push in the second to claim a 25–21 win. SJC delivered its cleanest performance in the third, posting 14 kills and a .250 hitting percentage to close out the sweep, 25–18.
