#3 Babson Defeats Saint Joseph’s, 5-0

STANDISH, Maine – #3 Babson College (4-0) tallied goals in every quarter en route to a 5-0 victory over Saint Joseph's College (1-2) in non-conference field hockey action at the SJC Athletics Complex on Wednesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Babson wasted little time establishing control, as junior forward Caroline DiGiovanni (Harwich, Mass.) opened the scoring off a penalty corner in the 11th minute. The Beavers doubled their advantage before halftime when Emma Smith (Kenilworth, Ill.) converted a feed from Ashley Braren (Westwood, Mass.) with just under five minutes left in the second quarter.

The visitors kept the pressure on in the second half. Alex Michelotti (Englewood, Colo.) netted an unassisted strike at the 37:33 mark, and Charlotte Roe (Wayne, Pa.) added a fourth tally 10 minutes later off a Michelotti helper. DiGiovanni capped the scoring in the 56th minute with her second of the contest, set up by Roe.

All five of the Beavers' goals were scored off penalty corners.
