Saint Joseph’s College Hires Greg Dumais ’03 as Men’s & Women’s Club Ice Hockey Coach

STANDISH, Maine – Saint Joseph's College of Maine has announced the hiring of Greg Dumais '03 as the first head coach of the men's and women's club ice hockey programs. A 2003 graduate of Saint Joseph's, Dumais brings more than two decades of coaching, officiating, and administrative experience in hockey and baseball to the College as it prepares to build competitive club-level hockey offerings for its students.

"We are thrilled to welcome Greg back to the Shores of Sebago," said Saint Joseph's Director of Athletics Chris Willer '04. "Greg's deep ties to the Maine hockey community, combined with his leadership experience and his passion for Saint Joseph's, make him the perfect person to lead our club hockey programs."

Dumais most recently served as the Head Girls' Hockey Coach and Director of Rink Operations at Hebron Academy during the 2024–25 academic year. His wide-ranging resume includes extensive coaching experience with the Maine Gladiators Tier II program (8U through 14U), leadership as President and Vice President of the Gladiators organization, and long-standing service as an Assignor of Officials for Maine high school and prep school hockey. He also has officiated at the highest levels, working games in Hockey East, ECAC Hockey, the American Hockey League, and the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.

A two-sport athlete during his collegiate career, Dumais played baseball for the Monks from 1999–2002 and has remained active as a coach and administrator in the sport, most notably as a Little League and American Legion coach in the Auburn-Lewiston area.

"I'm honored to come home to Saint Joseph's and excited to help establish a hockey tradition here," said Dumais. "This is a special place to me, and I look forward to building programs that our student-athletes, alumni, and the entire Monks community can be proud of."

With Coach Dumais leading efforts in recruiting, scheduling, and program development, the Monks look to field full rosters this winter as both teams are slated to embark on full season schedules during the 2025–26 campaign.
