HENNIKER, N.H. – Saint Joseph's College (7-7, 2-0 GNAC) outlasted New England College (9-5, 0-2 GNAC), 66-60, in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) women's basketball contest on Wednesday evening.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
The rivals traded 14 lead changes and six ties, and neither side led by more than eight in a game that remained in doubt until the final five minutes. Trailing 59–58, Saint Joseph's closed on an 8–1 run to pull away 66–60, highlighted by a go-ahead three from senior Logan Brown (Brunswick, Maine) and a late triple from sophomore Hayden Madore (Hallowell, Maine).
New England carried a 15–13 edge after one, but the Monks answered with an 18–14 second quarter to take a 31–29 halftime lead. The margin stayed at two after both teams scored 20 in the third, sending Saint Joseph's into the fourth up 51–49.
Saint Joseph's created separation in the final period by forcing nine NEC turnovers, limiting the Pilgrims to just eight possessions over the final 10 minutes and turning key stops into timely scores down the stretch.

The Monks scored 24 points off 22 Pilgrim turnovers, including 11 off nine NEC miscues in the fourth quarter.
