STANDISH, Maine – Saint Joseph's College competed against Maine Maritime Academy in head-to-head swimming action at the Harold Alfond Center Pool on Saturday. The visiting Mariners defeated the Monks by a 123-49 score.
SENIOR MOMENT:
Prior to the start of the meet, the swim program held a brief ceremony to honor the team's lone senior, Elise Soucy (Saco, Maine / Thornton Academy). Over four seasons at Saint Joseph's, Soucy competed in more than 80 events, earned two All-Conference selections, and received a pair of GNAC All-Academic honors. She also etched her name into the record book as a member of the Monks' 2023 record-board 200-medley relay team.
A respected leader with a constant supply of positivity, Soucy has made a lasting impact on the program and will be greatly missed. During the ceremony she received several gifts from her teammates and was joined by family members for a photo.
