WINTHROP, Mass. – Saint Joseph's College freshman Chloe Masse (Oakland, Maine) has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Field Hockey Rookie of the Week for the second time this season.
Masse scored in all three games last week, totaling six goals and an assist for 13 points as the Monks posted a pair of conference victories.
The freshman midfielder highlighted her week with a career-high four goals and an assist in Wednesday's 9-0 victory over Regis College. She scored twice in the opening six minutes, with both goals assisted by sophomore Ava Markham (Belfast, Maine), and completed her hat trick just 20 seconds into the second half on another Markham feed. Masse added an unassisted goal at 42:25 before setting up junior Zoey Lailer (Limington, Maine) early in the fourth quarter.
Her nine-point performance was the program's highest individual total since Maya Waryas (Bellows Falls, Vt.) recorded 10 points against Albertus Magnus on October 4, 2025.
Masse opened the week with the Monks' lone goal in a 2-1 loss to No. 21 Endicott College on Monday. She converted a pass from junior Katie Yeaton (Farmington, Maine) just eight seconds after the Gulls scored their second goal. On Saturday, she scored off a feed from freshman Macy Hickey (West Gardiner, Maine) to help Saint Joseph's secure a 5-1 victory at Lasell University.
Masse now ranks second on the team with 10 goals and 24 points. She previously earned GNAC Rookie of the Week honors on October 5.
Saint Joseph's concludes the regular season Tuesday, October 27, hosting Thomas College at 6:00 PM. The fourth-seeded Monks will then host fifth-seeded New England College in a GNAC Tournament quarterfinal Saturday, October 31, at 11:00 AM.
