WINTHROP, Mass. – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly accolades have been announced, and Saint Joseph's College swept the men's cross country weekly awards, as graduate student Jacob Pelletier (Augusta, Maine) was selected as Runner of the Week and freshman Sam Tooley (Camden, Maine) earned Rookie of the Week honors.
Pelletier and Tooley posted a one-two finish to lead the Monks to the team title at Sunday's Maslan Invitational, hosted by Colby-Sawyer College as the GNAC Preview. Racing over the 7.2-kilometer course, Pelletier won the individual title with a time of 23:52, while Tooley finished as the runner-up in 24:35.
For Pelletier, the honor marks his eighth career GNAC Runner of the Week award and his second of the season. Tooley earns his second career Rookie of the Week selection.
Saint Joseph's returns to action on Friday, October 9, competing in a meet hosted by Franklin Pierce University with racing scheduled to begin at 3:45 PM.
