Monks Topple Pride for Seventh Straight Victory

WESTON, Mass. – Saint Joseph's College (14-10, 9-2 GNAC) extended its season-long winning streak to seven games with a 61-38 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) victory at Regis College (11-13, 8-3 GNAC) on Tuesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Saint Joseph's grabbed a 15-10 lead after one quarter and tightened the screws defensively in the second, limiting Regis to seven points to take a 30-17 cushion into halftime.

The Monks kept control after the break, outscoring the Pride 16-9 in the third to extend the margin to 46-26 heading to the fourth.

Saint Joseph's maintained its defensive pressure in the final frame and built its largest lead (25) midway through the quarter on the way to the 23-point win.

STATS OF THE GAME:

Saint Joseph's shot 40.0% (22-55) from the field and held Regis to 15-for-65 shooting (23.1%), including 1-for-12 from three-point range. The Monks owned the backboards (53-31), turned 14 offensive rebounds into 11 second-chance points, and scored 19 bench points to help separate from a Regis group that totaled just four assists on the night.
