BRUNSWICK, Maine – Saint Joseph's College (2-0) kicked off the 2026 baseball season with a pair of wins at Bowdoin College on Saturday afternoon at Pickard Field. The Monks opened with a 4-2 triumph and completed the sweep with a 10-2 victory.
GAME ONE – SAINT JOSEPH'S 4, BOWDOIN 2:
Saint Joseph's struck first in the top of the opening inning when Jared Wilhelm (Tolland, Conn.) reached on an error, Vinny O'Leary (North Quincy, Mass.) walked, and Jake Carlisle (Portsmouth, N.H.) followed with an RBI single to make it 1-0.
The Monks broke the game open in the third. Wilhelm and O'Leary opened the frame with back-to-back singles, and Nic Frink (Scarborough, Maine) drove in Wilhelm with an RBI single. Moments later, O'Leary scored on a Bowdoin error and Frink also came home on another error, giving Saint Joseph's a 4-0 advantage.
Bowdoin got on the board in the fifth when Conor Moriarty walked and scored on a Tommy O'Donnell RBI double, then added another run in the sixth on a Henry Bibeau RBI single. The Monks closed it out with a 1-2-3 seventh inning in the bottom half, preserving the 4-2 final.

GAME TWO – SAINT JOSEPH'S 10, BOWDOIN 2:
Saint Joseph's jumped in front early with two runs in the first inning. Jared Wilhelm was hit by a pitch, stole second, and later scored on an RBI single by Matt Elwell (Wakefield, Mass.). Vinny O'Leary then came home on a wild pitch to make it 2-0.
The Monks broke the game open with a six-run third. O'Leary led off with a single, Nic Frink walked, and Carlisle delivered an RBI single. After another walk loaded the bases, Nick Brindle (Pittsfield, Mass.) lined an RBI single up the middle that brought home two runs, and Theo Masella (Manchester, Mass.) reached on an error that plated two more as Saint Joseph's built an 8-0 cushion.
Bowdoin answered in the bottom of the fourth on a two-run homer by Will Bordes, cutting the deficit to 8-2.
Saint Joseph's responded immediately with two insurance runs in the fifth. Masella doubled, Connor Finn (Kingston, Mass.) followed with an RBI ground-rule double, and O'Leary added an RBI single to center to push the lead to 10-2.
Bowdoin did not score again as the Monks closed out the final three innings to secure the sweep.
