NEW LONDON, Conn. – Saint Joseph's College (9-3, 8-0 GNAC) overwhelmed Mitchell College (0-8, 0-7 GNAC), 25-1, in Great Northeast Athletic Conference women's lacrosse action at Alumni Field on Thursday afternoon. The Monks scored 10 times in the opening quarter and cruised to their eighth straight victory.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Saint Joseph's seized control early and never looked back. Sophomore Ella Highbarger (Kennebunk, Maine) scored twice in the opening three minutes, and after Mitchell's Lauren Cordero briefly trimmed the deficit to 3-1, the Monks rattled off the final seven goals of the quarter to carry a 10-1 lead into the second.
The Monks added eight more goals in the second quarter to take an 18-1 advantage into halftime and stayed in command the rest of the way. Saint Joseph's tacked on four goals in the third and three more in the fourth to close out the 24-goal conference victory.

Saint Joseph's dominated the stat sheet with advantages in shots (46-7), ground balls (25-10), draw controls (19-7), and clears, going a perfect 9-for-9. Mitchell committed 25 turnovers and went just 4-for-16 on clears in the setback.
