CHICOPEE, Mass. – Saint Joseph's College (14-3, 13-0 GNAC) erupted for 15 first-half goals and cruised to a 21-3 victory over Elms College (3-14, 2-11 GNAC) in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) women's lacrosse action at Leary Field on Wednesday evening.
PLAYOFF IMPLICATIONS:
With the unblemished conference record, Saint Joseph's earns the top seed in the GNAC Tournament and will host #8 Rivier University in a quarterfinal matchup on Saturday at 11:30 AM. For Elms, the loss signals the end of the 2026 season.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Saint Joseph's took control from the outset, scoring 10 unanswered goals in the opening quarter to build what proved to be an insurmountable lead. Junior Taylor Dumond (Minisink, N.Y.) netted four first-period goals, while sophomore Kiley Webber (Freeport, Maine), sophomore Zoey Lailer (Limington, Maine), and sophomore Ella Highbarger (Kennebunk, Maine) also contributed during the early surge.
The Monks added five more goals in the second quarter to take a 15-0 lead into halftime and tacked on six additional markers in the third to push the margin to 21-0. Elms broke up the shutout with three fourth-quarter goals to account for the 21-3 final.

Saint Joseph's controlled play throughout, holding advantages in shots (38-15), shots on goal (28-8), ground balls (25-16), and draw controls (16-9), while also going a perfect 15-for-15 on clears. The Monks committed just 14 turnovers and forced 24 in the win.
