STANDISH, Maine – Saint Joseph's College sophomore right fielder Jake Carlisle (Portsmouth, N.H.) has been named to the D3baseball.com Team of the Week for his performance in four conference tournament games last week.
Carlisle helped Saint Joseph's remain alive in the GNAC Tournament by batting .588 (10-for-17) with four runs, 10 RBI, two doubles, a home run, a .550 OBP, and an .882 slugging percentage. He opened the tournament with a 5-for-5 effort, including two runs, four RBI, a double, and two stolen bases in a win over Norwich, added two hits against Lasell, and went 2-for-4 with a home run and four RBI in an elimination-game victory over the Lasers on Sunday.
In 44 starts this spring, Carlisle is hitting .335 (53-for-158) with 32 runs, seven doubles, seven home runs, and 34 RBI. He ranks second on the team in hits, runs, doubles, total bases (83), and RBI, and third in batting average, home runs, and slugging percentage (.525).
The D3baseball.com Team of the Week selection is the first national weekly honor of Carlisle's career. He is the ninth player in program history to earn D3baseball.com Team of the Week recognition. Anthony DiPrizio '19 was the last Saint Joseph's position player to receive the weekly national honor, doing so on April 29, 2019, while Padraig Mac Seain (Brookline, N.H.) was named to the Team of the Week earlier this season on March 18.
Saint Joseph's (34-11, 14-6 GNAC) enters the GNAC Championship Series after winning three straight elimination games, including Monday's 6-3 Pod B final victory over Lasell. The Monks will face top-seeded Mitchell College in a best-of-three set beginning Thursday at 2:00 PM, with the league's NCAA Tournament automatic qualifier on the line.
