PORTLAND, Maine – Saint Joseph's College competed in the 2026 Southern Maine Cup, a Ryder Cup-style event held at the par-72 Riverside Golf Course on Saturday afternoon.
Unlike a traditional collegiate tournament, the Southern Maine Cup is a unique event in which two-player teams play six holes of best ball, six holes of scramble, and six holes of alternate shot.
Southern Maine produced both of the tournament's winning pairings, as Ben Aucoin and Jaden Poirier shared first place with Will Farschon and Carter O'Connell. Both duos finished eight-under par with matching scores of 64.
MONKS ROUNDUP:
- Senior Noah Tibbetts (Brewer, Maine) and junior Zach Stone (Gray, Maine) led the Monks by carding a one-over 73 to finish tied for 10th.
- Juniors Kyle Bowlan (Pelham, N.H.) and AJ Davis (Turner, Maine) followed one stroke behind, placing 12th with a two-over 74.
- Juniors Chase Ranger (Farmington, Maine) and Noah Schaeffer (Gray, Maine) rounded out the Saint Joseph's contingent with a five-over 77, good for a share of 13th place.

Saint Joseph's will host the 23rd Annual John Queenan Memorial Tournament at the Point Sebago Golf Resort on Wednesday, September 9th. The yearly tournament is named in memory of John Queenan, a 2003 graduate of Bow High School who died tragically in an automobile accident just prior to the beginning of his freshman year as a student-athlete at Saint Joseph's.
