PORTLAND, Maine – Saint Joseph's College competed in the 2026 Southern Maine Cup, a Ryder Cup-style event hosted by the University of Southern Maine at the par-72 Riverside Golf Course on Saturday.
Unlike a traditional tournament, the Southern Maine Cup is a unique event in which player pairings play six holes of best ball, six holes of scramble, and six holes of alternate shot.
The University of New England's Abby Flanagan and Amanda Forziati won the tournament with a five-over-par score of 77, finishing five strokes ahead of the field.
MONKS ROUNDUP:
- Juniors Reese Beaudoin (Monmouth, Maine) and Dakota Morgan (Norway, Maine) led the Monks with a 14-over 86. The duo tied Husson University's Alison Mitchell and Riley Fyfe for fifth place in the 10-pair field.
- Senior Breya Whitman (Auburn, Maine) and sophomore Cailin Henry (Wells, Maine) completed the Saint Joseph's contingent, placing 10th with a 34-over 106.
