This second year-player showed signs of being a quality playerin the Monks system ... unfortunately, T.J. will be slowed downduring the first semester because of an operation on his knee afterlast season. He has spent the entire summer and the pre-seasontrying to get stronger in order to be effective during hissophomore campaign ... just another testament to his toughness anddrive to become a complete player ... T.J.'s work ethic is at thetop of the charts and the coaching staff is hoping that hisenthusiasm for working will be contagious ... if not in classduring the day, playing in the winter, or working with heavyequipment in the summer, T.J. is in the gym getting stronger andworking on his basketball skills ... he will be looked upon to stretch the defense with his outstanding three-point shot ... hehas the ability to put up points in bunches ... must continue toclean up his handle and stay with his strength training to make animpact on all aspects of the game ... the coaching staff is rootingfor this young man to get healthy because they know he can be apiece to the Monks puzzle.
2007-08: Playing behind six juniors andreturning starter/Second Team All-conference player Elbie Murphy,he knew his time would be limited ... his efforts and importance tohis team do not lie in his season statistical line ... hisdedication and hard work did not go unnoticed, and he appeared in11 of the 27 games the Monks played ... averaged 6.3 minutes pergame in those contests ... registered a career-high 14 minutesversus the Mustangs from Mount Ida ... registered a career-high 2points and grabbed 2 rebounds versus Emmanuel College ... grabbed acareer-high 3 rebounds in a victory versus Albertus Magnus. As soonas T.J. starts to mature physically, you will see his minutes andnumbers increase.
High School: Graduated from nearby Windham HighSchool ... totaled 710 career points over three seasons ...averaged 18.7 points, 4.2 rebounds, 4.6 assists, and 3.4 steals hissenior year ... recorded a career highs of 32 points versusMarshwood High School, dished out 8 assists against Biddeford ...earned SMAA All-Conference honors in '06 and ‘07 ... wasvoted by the coaches to the SMAA Senior All-Star game. During hissenior season, Tandberg's teammates voted him Captain and WindhamHigh School Team MVP.
