Overview:

Will Pike '11 was named the head coach of the Saint Joseph's College men's soccer program in January 2019 after spending five seasons as an assistant coach with the Monks. Since taking over the program, Pike has continued Saint Joseph's tradition as one of the premier men's soccer programs in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference.

Through six seasons, Pike has compiled a 73-30-13 (.685) overall record and a remarkable 58-12-5 (.807) mark in GNAC play. Under his leadership, the Monks have captured the program's sixth GNAC Championship, earned three GNAC regular-season titles, advanced to two GNAC Championship matches, and made an appearance in the NCAA Division III Tournament.

On October 25, 2025, Pike became the winningest head coach in Saint Joseph's men's soccer history when the Monks defeated Dean College, 4-0, at the SJC Athletics Complex. The victory was the 72nd of his career, surpassing Adrian Dubois' previous program record of 71 wins. Pike finished the 2025 season with 73 career victories.

Pike's teams have consistently excelled on both ends of the field, producing some of the nation's top statistical performances. The 2019 squad led NCAA Division III in shutout percentage (.667) while also ranking third in goals-against average (0.50), fourth in corner kicks per game (7.76), and sixth in shots per game (20.67). The Monks again ranked among the national leaders during their 2021 GNAC championship season, finishing seventh in winning percentage (.895) and eighth in save percentage (.862).

A former All-Conference goalkeeper himself, Pike has also established one of the premier goalkeeper traditions in NCAA Division III. During his time as an assistant and head coach, Blake Mullen, David Walbridge, Mike Sheridan, and Liam Foley have combined to earn seven (consecutive) GNAC Goalkeeper of the Year awards, multiple All-Conference, All-Region, and All-America honors, and helped Saint Joseph's annually rank among the GNAC's top defensive teams. Mullen later suited up for the Western Mass Pioneers of the USL League Two and Sheridan, who used his final season of eligibility at Villanova, signed a professional contract with Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC in March 2026 after two seasons with Philadelphia Union II.

Pike has also overseen the development of numerous All-Conference, All-Region, Academic All-America, and All-America student-athletes while continuing Saint Joseph's tradition as one of the GNAC's premier men's soccer programs.

2025 Season

Saint Joseph's finished the 2025 season with an 8-9-1 overall record and a 7-4-1 mark in GNAC play, earning the No. 4 seed in the conference tournament. The Monks opened postseason play with a 3-1 victory over fifth-seeded Dean College before falling to eventual conference champion University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) in the semifinals.

The season was highlighted by Pike becoming the winningest coach in program history. The milestone came on October 25 when Saint Joseph's defeated Dean College, 4-0, at the SJC Athletics Complex for Pike's 72nd career victory, surpassing Adrian Dubois' previous school record. Pike closed the season with 73 career wins.

Sophomore Nick Marion and junior Zander Haskell earned First Team All-GNAC honors, while Cole Bishop, Joseph Perron, and Diego Robinson were selected to the Second Team. Marion also garnered United Soccer Coaches Third Team All-Region recognition.

2024 Season

The Monks posted an 8-8-1 overall record and finished 8-5-1 in GNAC play to secure the No. 5 seed in the conference tournament. Saint Joseph's battled Emmanuel College to a 1-1 draw in the quarterfinals before seeing its season end in a penalty shootout.

Senior midfielder Rion Dos Santos earned First Team All-GNAC honors for the second consecutive season and the third time in his career. Sophomore defender Diego Robinson and senior goalkeeper Liam Foley were both named Third Team All-GNAC.

2023 Season

Saint Joseph's enjoyed one of the top regular seasons in the GNAC in 2023, posting a 12-4-3 overall record and an 11-2-1 conference mark to earn the No. 1 seed in the conference tournament. The Monks blanked Regis College, 2-0, in the quarterfinals before suffering a narrow 1-0 loss to Norwich University in the semifinals.

Liam Foley headlined the Monks' postseason honors after being named GNAC Goalkeeper of the Year and First Team All-GNAC. Will Wood and Rion Dos Santos also earned First Team recognition, while Gus Ford and Diego Robinson were selected to the Second Team and Alec Kosinski garnered Third Team accolades.

Wood added United Soccer Coaches Second Team All-Region honors and became the first student-athlete in program history to earn CSC Academic All-America recognition with a Second Team selection.

2022 Season

Saint Joseph's finished 13-5-1 overall and 11-1 in GNAC play to earn the top seed in the conference tournament. After defeating Anna Maria College, 4-0, in the quarterfinals, the Monks' season came to an end with a 2-0 semifinal loss to eventual conference champion University of Saint Joseph.

Eight Monks earned All-GNAC honors following the season. Senior goalkeeper Mike Sheridan was named GNAC Goalkeeper of the Year, extending the program's streak to six consecutive Goalkeeper of the Year recipients. Graduate captain Austin Ward earned United Soccer Coaches Second Team All-Region honors, while junior defender Will Wood received Third Team All-Region recognition.

2021 Season

Pike guided Saint Joseph's to one of the finest seasons in program history in 2021. The Monks finished 16-2-2 overall and completed a perfect 12-0 GNAC regular season before earning the program's sixth GNAC Championship.

Saint Joseph's defeated Colby-Sawyer and University of Saint Joseph to advance to the championship match, where the Monks claimed a dramatic 1-0 double-overtime victory over Norwich. The conference title secured the program's first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2009. Saint Joseph's carried a 2-0 lead late into its NCAA Tournament opener before nationally ranked New York University rallied for an overtime victory.

Nine Monks earned All-GNAC honors, highlighted by Defensive Player of the Year Colin Grant and Goalkeeper of the Year David Walbridge. Grant also received United Soccer Coaches All-Region recognition.

2019 Season

Pike's first season as head coach produced immediate success as Saint Joseph's finished 16-2-3 overall and 9-0-2 in conference play while advancing to the GNAC Championship match for the fourth consecutive season.

The Monks defeated Emmanuel and Norwich to reach the conference final before falling to top-seeded Johnson & Wales, 1-0, in double overtime. The season established Pike's tenure with one of the best first-year campaigns in program history.

Eight Monks earned All-GNAC honors, led by Defensive Player of the Year Noah Robinson and Goalkeeper of the Year David Walbridge. Robinson earned First Team All-New England honors while Jackson Taylor and Walbridge also collected regional recognition. Robinson was later named the 2020 GNAC Co-Man of the Year.

Previously:

Pike served as an assistant coach with the Monks during the 2012 season and again from 2015-18. In 2018, he served as the head assistant and goalkeeper coach for both the men's and women's soccer programs, helping guide both teams to GNAC Championships during a banner year for SJC athletics.

During an incredible three-season run, Saint Joseph's compiled a remarkable 55-3-8 overall record, including a 28-0-2 mark in GNAC play, from 2016-18, while capturing three consecutive conference championships. The Monks were consistently ranked among the nation’s top programs during the 2017 and 2018 campaigns, including a program-best No.5 ranking in the D3soccer.com poll on October 31, 2018. Pike was also a member of the 2017 United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division III New England Region Coaching Staff of the Year alongside Adrian Dubois, Michael Sanfilippo '12, and Kyle Shangraw '14.
