STANDISH, MAINE - After scoring just 46 seconds into the match,
things quickly spiraled out of control as the Monks (4-10-1)
dropped a 9-2 decision to visiting Husson College. The Eagles
improved to 9-5-2 as their 9 goal explosion was sandwiched between
two Saint Joseph's College goals.
First year Lane Hubacz (Mapleville, RI) gave
the Monks their only lead of the match as he scored during the
first minute. Mike Hoffman scored the first of his four goals at
28:00 and added his second after a goal by Kyle James to give the
Eagles a solid 3-1 lead at the half.
Husson notched 6 more goals in the second half to take a 9-1
lead. Freshman Kevin Melega (Easthampton, MA)
proved that there was still a lot of fight left in the SJC squad as
he scored on a pass from junior Kevin Hageman
(Albion, ME) at 87:16 to close out a rough outing for the Monks.
Senior David Rosquete (Auburn, ME) recorded 16
saves in the loss.
St. Joe's travels to New England College (NH) for a 3:30 pm
match on 10/26.
