Standish, ME - The Saint Joseph's College men's soccer team
defeated Eastern Nazarene College 2-0 and improved to 4-3 on the
season. GR David Rosquete (Auburn, ME) notched two goals to give
the Monks the win.
In the sixteenth minute of play, Crusader goalkeeper sophomore
Steven Bracale (Pennsville, NJ) deflected a direct kick by freshman
Eamonn Harrigan (Caribou, ME) and Rosquete scored off the rebound.
The Monks extended the lead at 64:02 as sophomore Kevin
Melega (Easthampton, MA) crossed to freshman Doug
MacCallum (Hingham, MA) who found senior Kevin
Hageman (Albion, ME) for a shot from the 18. Bracale once
again deflected the shot and Rosquete was there to net the rebound.
Eastern Nazarene was led by Captain Jessie Mix (Jr, Northeast,
PA) and junior Brad Leonard (Daleville, VA) with two shots apiece.
Freshman Greg Cavanaugh (Haverhill, MA) had two
saves and Bracale had 9 for the Crusaders.
St. Joe's hosts Rivier College on Thursday, Sept. 28, at 3:30
PM.
