Standish, ME - St. Joe's were defeated in overtime by Lyndon
State College in a tug-of-war soccer match on Sunday by a score of
3-2. Lyndon State scored first in the 12th minute, but SO
Doug MacCallum (Hingham, MA) picked up his 5th
goal of the season in the 36th minute to tie the game at one
apiece. SO Matt Loiselle (Woburn, MA) was credited
with the assist.
The game didn't remain tied for long as the Hornets scored barely a
minute later to go up 2-1. This score remained intact until FY
Paul Robins (Cornwall, England) tied the game at
two apiece in the 63rd minute. The Hornets JR Darren Roberge scored
his second goal of the game in the 99th minute to clinch the game
for Lyndon State. SO GK Cory Smith (Ellsworth, ME)
made 5 saves in the loss.
St. Joe's plays host to GNAC opponent Mount Ida College on
Wednesday, 10/25. Game time is 3:00 PM.
