FARMINGTON, ME – Saint Joseph's (3-4-1) scored a pair of second-half goals to sink University of Maine-Farmington (1-5-0), 2-0, in a non-conference men's soccer match on Wednesday afternoon. Junior Zach Johnson (Westbrook, Maine) tallied the game-winner in the 57th minute and junior Calvin Servaes (Hull, Mass.) scored his first goal of the season 15 minutes later.

Johnson scored the winner when he finished a shot from the left side off a pass from Cody Snyder (Bath, Maine). Servaes (Hull, Mass.) extended the Monks' lead to 2-0 in the 72nd minute, beating Beavers keeper Paul Dupre (Rehoboth, Mass.) off a feed from Ross Suleski (Amesbury, Mass.)

SJC freshman goalkeeper Scott Benner (Post Falls, Idaho) made four saves to notch his first collegiate shutout while Dupre recorded six saves in a losing effort. St. Joe's outshot Farmington by a 20-13 margin while the Beavers recorded an 8-5 lead in corner kicks on the afternoon.

With the result, Saint Joseph's improves to 4-17-4 in the history of the series with Maine-Farmington and has not lost to the Beavers since the 2006 campaign. All four of the Monks' wins over the former conference-rival have been of the shutout variety.
